主讲人简介:

Daniel Z. Kadar is Research Professor and Director of the Centre of Pragmatics Research at the Research Institute for Linguistics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He was recently appointed as Visiting Professor at Anglia Ruskin University, UK, and serves as Yunshan Chair Professor at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.

He is author/editor of 22 volumes, published with world-leading publishing houses such as Cambridge University Press, and author of a large number of papers published in high-impact journals, including Journal of Pragmatics, Journal of Politeness Research, Pragmatics and Society, Pragmatics, Multilingua, etc.. He is one of the Editors of the peer-reviewed journal East Asian Pragmatics, one of the Editors of the Cambridge Handbook of Sociopragmatics, and Editor-in-Chief of the new Edinburgh Series in Sociopragmatics. His most recent book is Politeness, Impoliteness and Ritual: Maintaining the Moral Order in Interpersonal Interaction (Cambridge University Press). Daniel is fond of Chinese culture, and he is doing research on a variety of Chinese pragmatics related topics. His research area includes interpersonal pragmatics, intercultural pragmatics, historical pragmatics, linguistic politeness research, ritual language, East Asian studies (with focus on Chinese and Japanese), language aggression.
